I won’t even begin to try and gloss this post over…it’s a sad day and I’ve got my Kleenex out as I’m doing the final Farewell TTIC Blog Hop. So before I get to my post, let me say a few words…
My girls at TT are the best evah. We’re a pretty tight bunch and I value the friendships I’ve had with each and every one of them over the past year and a half. Honestly, I feel the same about some readers too. We all came together for our mutual love of Twilight and I never, ever expected to end up with so many rich blessings from it. We’ve laughed together, cried together…been through fun times and sad times. And to each of you…it’s all been worth it…thank you. I’ve got to leave it at that or I’ll totally lose it…
So!! On with the hop! You should be arriving from TTIC.
The amazingly talented and loyal Rebecca is bringing us our final challenge and she’s really thought up a charmer. Here’s what she said:
Our challenge theme???? ”Love of books, the printed words on a page” since that is what brought us all together.
Creative portion: Create a project that uses printed text: a page from a magazine, book, dictionary, etc. within your project, as the background or focal point.
Comment Portion: I love to read the newspaper online but nothing beats a printed newspaper on Sunday mornings. And no matter how hard I try, I can’t abandon books (hardcover, softcover, or paperback) to a digital reader. Are you totally digital or do you prefer a good old fashioned printed page in your hands?”
Apropos really. I’m going to go in reverse order and answer the comment portion first. I’m eclectic with my reading preferences. I love audible books when the reader is good. I love to just relax and listen to a good story! I can do that while I’m crafting or relaxing in a hot bath. I adore audible books! I also adore my Kindle for my iPod Touch. I didn’t know if I’d like an e-reader but it’s awesome! I can collect and collect without using “space”. I have this thing where I just love to see all those book titles just there. I’ve got the Black Dagger Brotherhood series on my iPod Kindle and even some of my books for school! I am stalking the Nook. That’s what I really want. Maybe someday. And I love an old fashioned real-live book too. Because it’s easier to skip ahead and cheat a little!!! I love them all!
Now, on to my creative project. This might get tight so be warned. There are so many things I wanted to do for this challenge. So many ways I could’ve taken this. But this is the place I decided to go…
Before all my wonderful Twilight friends came along, there was the saga, Stephenie Meyer’s playlists, and a realization…confirmation…trip back to yesteryear…whatever you want to call it. I think this trip was felt by all of us but it’s always been a private whisper. An, “I have my own Edward/Jacob story” kind of deal. As the TwiMoms came together, we all knew this but we kept our privacy. But, the truth is…for the large majority of us…Twilight was so meaningful because we could relate to the Bella/Edward/Jacob triangle and it touched us in spots that have long been hidden. That’s where I’m going…oh yes.
SM’s playlists introduced me to Justin Furstenfeld and Blue October. My life has never been the same since. So, my project simply had to have Justin’s writing as it’s focal point. More exactly, it had to be My Never. I didn’t end up with my Edward. I ended up with my Jacob. My Edward is My Never. It’s funny how life sometimes goes that way. You have to make the best of it but it’s hard to forget a devastating New Moon type of heartbreak. It leaves you a little scarred. A little damaged. But time passes…one way or another it passes and you end up with all those Paris thoughts Bella had. And in the real world, Edward doesn’t always come back. So you move on.
Your next stop on the hop is Rebecca!
Be sure to be on the lookout for blog candy during the hop!!!
