ETA: I want to alert you all to Julie’s fabulous blog candy giveaway! She’s giving away fab candy all month so you should definitely get on her RSS feed!
I plan to post the instructions for the popsicle card tomorrow for those who are wanting them. Be on the lookout!
Today, however, I’m going to share another summer treat. Ready?

I used my Scor-Pal to make the lines on the waffle cone (thanks for the idea, Bestie Beth!) and I used the cupcake SU! die (Sizzix) for the ice cream.

In case you’re wondering…that’s mint chocolate chip right there, baby!! See the outlines on the ice cream? Those are made with Sakura Souffle pens that create a puffy, embossed look.

And here is the inside of the card! I’m thinking this will be one of the cards we make in my next stamping class. Thoughts?

I was completely inspired to make this card after looking at an embellishment on an Oriental Trading catalog cover.
I thought it was a cool idea for 2 reasons:
1. The new SU! In Colors are perfect for popsicles!
2. I’ve got dozens of these unused sticks from the multiple rub-on packs I have and don’t use!
I’m hoping the recipient of this card has already gotten it. But if not, she’ll get it soon so I’m hoping it’ll still be a surprise.
So let’s look at my popsicle!

Did you get that Sakura Clear Stardust Pen yet? Look what I did with it here! And while I’m promoting my shop, I just implemented a new Flat Rate Shipping Policy of $6.50 for the U.S. and APO/FPO destinations! International flat rates have been added as well. Take a look!
So how does this popsicle card work? Like this:

And the pullout comes all the way out for you to stamp your greeting:

How cool is that??? If anyone is interested, I’ll be happy to give instructions. Super easy.

You know what’s sad? The retirement of In Colors. Every year it makes me sad. I hate to see In Colors retire. Especially, this past two years. But you know what? There’s hope on the horizon. There are rumors that perhaps the retired In Colors might pop back up…
Today, however, I want to remember last year’s Groovy Guava and Soft Sky. What fabulous colors! The whole card was inspired by the Sweetness embellishment I used.

I stamped the images in Close to Cocoa, Groovy Guava, and Soft Sky. I sponged the white cardstock (PTI) with the Soft Sky. Then I did something I’ve never done before. I outlined the images! I used Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral, and Bordering Blue SWMs to do the outlining.

Did you notice the sparkle? This is actually colored with a Clear Stardust Sakura Pen. What an excellent source to outline fine lines! If you want to add a little sparkle with a fine line, this is your tool! It is a great addition to your pen collection! I’m totally loving it!
Are you curious about the new In Colors to be released July 1st? Well, here you go:

Hi Stampers! I need some help. As you are aware, my new shop will be launching next Monday. The goal of my shop is to share the products I’ve recommended to you. My favorites…the ones I’ve tried and love.
I’m really looking for some feedback though. I’d love to know what products you love and ones I should try! I have capabilities of getting a lot of products but since I’m not a Rockefeller, I’m having to pick and choose for the time being. So I’m curious about products that I “must have.” Leave me comments! Get specific, it’s ok!
Here’s a sneak peak of products that will be available:
- Shimmerz and Blingz
- GlueGlider Pro
- Robin’s Nest Dew Drops
- Bind It All
- Sakura Pens (see Julie’s post)
- Terrifically Tacky Tape
- Fiskars cutting products
- Stickles
- Liquid Pearls
- and more!!
I made this card last week for my dearest Julie who recently suffered a loss in her family. Losses are always a difficult thing. People don’t generally know what to say, or what to do. However, a handmade card goes a loooooong way.

I picked a color scheme that I knew Julie would adore. I used retired designer paper and colors from last season’s SU! In Colors (Groovy Guava and Soft Sky). I even had the matching ribbon!

I used a blender pen to soak in the Groovy Guava ink to create a “marker” so I could color these flowers. This image and sentiment are from the Thoughts & Prayers set (SU!). I used Always Artichoke for the stems and leaves.
Happy Memorial Day everyone. I am completely grateful for the people who serve and have served in our military. I know today is a special day for those who have died in service and I take this very seriously. I am sincerely moved while I’m watching memorial services. I get very teary-eyed when I think of our military and the people who serve in it. I wonder if it’s because I spent so long in San Antonio? There is something truly moving about living near military bases and seeing so many people walking around in uniforms. Even now it’s taking my breath away. Thank you to all our military (currently active and retired)…and their spouses.
