I have been having some real trouble with my creative mojo lately. I mean, real…serious…trouble. I made this card and I’m not sure about it. So be easy on me. Maybe next week I’ll have some better stuff!

Here is the card I made with the morning glory (Morning Soft, Stampin’ Up! retired) I stamped and colored on Monday’s post. Remember I used Cut-N-Dry Nibs to color the Morning Glories since I didn’t have an In Color marker. I was able to use a droplet of ink from a reinker to create a custom marker.

I added Icicle Stickles to the petals for a little dazzle. I used my normal Stampin’ Write Markers for the greenery.

And finally, I used Robin’s Nest Dew Drops for a final touch of bling. Do you like?

I did another project for the partnership between Artful INKables and Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge so I wanted to share that with you today.

This card uses the Fictionally Inspired set.

ttic special ai challenge 005The card is a 4×4” square. I love making this size card! They are fast and easy to make.

I used The retired Parisian Breeze designer paper and River Rock card stock. I also used Very Vanilla and Close to Cocoa card stock. Inks match. I used Baja Breeze ink as well. Add in some nestabilities and the card is done!

Tomorrow I will be back to talk about black ink and Copics! I look forward to it!!

A Super Easy Picture Project

Category : Projects, SH Shop, Stampin' Up! Stamps

Today, I am posting a fast, super easy picture project that is perfect for beginning paper crafters or when you need a quick gift.

This project uses:

  • 5 Lightweight chipboard coasters
  • Ribbon
  • Designer Paper
  • Card stock
  • Embellishments
  • Crop-a-dile or other hole puncher
  • Adhesive
  • Sanding block

I used 4 x 4” coasters. I cut designer paper squares to match and adhered them to the coasters. Then use a sanding block to gently sand the edges.

I cut 4 pieces of card stock at 3 1/4” squares and adhered to 4 of the coasters. These will be the photo mats.

I added simple embellishments to each mat and punched holes in the top and bottom for the ribbons.

I used chipboard letters and burgandy Shimmerz to paint the letters. I used metallic Robin’s Nest Dew Drops.

Use the ribbon to tie each coaster together. Leave extra ribbon in the top for hanging.

Can it get any more simple than this? NO!

My daughter will get this little project. I plan to put pictures of her favorite pets, the day at the part, and a couple more on this for her.

I used textured card stock for the mats.

I’m not sure how long this will actually last in her room. She likes to help me decorate so it’s likely to receive a makeover from her.

There are loads of possibilities to dress this project up.

It’s so easy. 15 minutes. That’s all it took.

Well, guess what stampers? You remember the popsicle I made? Well, as sometimes happens, I found out that someone created a similar one last year. I thought I had an original idea, but I guess not!

I’m still going to post instructions for my version. But I do want to make it clear that someone else did beat me to the idea!

ETA: I want to alert you all to Julie’s fabulous blog candy giveaway! She’s giving away fab candy all month so you should definitely get on her RSS feed!

I plan to post the instructions for the popsicle card tomorrow for those who are wanting them. Be on the lookout!

Today, however, I’m going to share another summer treat. Ready?

I used my Scor-Pal to make the lines on the waffle cone (thanks for the idea, Bestie Beth!) and I used the cupcake SU! die (Sizzix) for the ice cream.

In case you’re wondering…that’s mint chocolate chip right there, baby!! See the outlines on the ice cream? Those are made with Sakura Souffle pens that create a puffy, embossed look.

And here is the inside of the card! I’m thinking this will be one of the cards we make in my next stamping class. Thoughts?

I’ll take that dare!

Shimmerz launched a new weekly challenge this week called Shimmerz Darez. As all my regular readers know, I adore Shimmerz!! Upon seeing that this premier challenge is to use Shimmerz, Blingz and/or Spritz on a picture frame, I knew I would totally be in! Why? Because I had a frame laying around that I didn’t know what to do with!

stamphappens frame 008

So I turned my frame into this. I’m really going to miss this awesome Bella Rose designer paper. It’s the most gorgeous paper and I love it.

stamphappens frame 009

See these gorgeous butterflies? I used my butterfly Bigz die from SU! and cut the paper and some Grungeboard (Tim Holtz). Then I adhered the paper to the Grungeboard.  I also added half pearls and, of course, Shimmerz.

stamphappens frame 010

I used Angel Wings Shimmerz on both butterflies.

stamphappensframe 011

I had to be very careful with this frame. I wanted to add more “stuff” to it, but it is a picture frame and the focus should be the picture. So I refrained. Although I’ve not inserted a picture yet, my idea is to use the roses as a mat.

If you haven’t tried Shimmerz yet, please check out my shop! I’ve got many Shimmerz colors and I know you’ll love it as much as I do. My personal fav, Angel Wingz!!!

Another Flower Pot Card

I made another flower pot card and wanted to share it! Again, I am celebrating last year’s In Colors, Groovy Guava and Soft Sky. I also used retired designer paper in the same colors. I love this designer paper!!

Ready to take a closer look with me??

Let’s go!

ttic32 009

Remember the fab Sakura Clear Stardust pen I told you about yesterday? Well, I used it on this card too. See the outlines on the flowers and butterfly? That’s the pen! And how about that butterfly? I added some wire (retired SU!) and some bling rhinestones.

ttic32 010

Another view of the sparkle from the pen! And those are Robin’s Nest Dew Drops there. I believe they are gunmetal? I need to verify that.

And here is the pullout sentiment. The K in “Keep me company” is a bit hidden in this picture but it is visible IRL.

BTW, recently I looked at keywords that bring people to my site. And I realized that a few acronyms might ought to be explained. Specifically, what a CASE is. So here are a few for anyone who needs them:

BTW: by the way

IRL: in real life

OME: Oh my Edward (it’s a Twilight thing)

SCS: Splitcoast Stampers

SU!: Stampin’ Up!

CASE: copy and steal (or share) everything

When doing a CASE, most people do not mind others doing a CASE but they would appreciate credit. So anytime you CASE a person’s artwork, in part or full, it’s wise to give credit to the original source. In fact, I’m updating a post from August 28, 2008 to finally give credit to the originator of the mini backpack! It’s just the right thing to do!

Are you shopping yet? I’m still taking suggestions on products!!
