Birthday Fun

Hello stampers!!

Last week was my first born’s 11th birthday. I whipped up this card for him.

I realized that trying to make cards for 11 year old boys is not so easy.

It’s already hard enough to do masculine cards.

Throw in kids who want to be older and cool and it’s darn near impossible.

I did a lot of normal ink to paper stamping on this card! I embossed everything except the green balloon.

I used Wild Wasabi, Brilliant Blue (craft ink), and Real Red (craft ink) from SU!

I used Birthday Whimsy for my images (SU!).

I used Vintage Sepia from Versafine and Jet Black Stazon.

The paper is BoBunny from the Calpso and Double Dot collections.

I drew the balloon strings with my Multiliner.

Enjoy!

Farewell Week at TTIC… *sniff*

Most of us plateau when we lose the tension between where we are and where we ought to be. ~ John Gardiner

 Doesn’t this say it all?

Yes, this is the week of bittersweet good-byes over at the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge blog. I know there are a lot of tears and I can say that our design team is handling this last week with such grace and strength. None of us are very thrilled with saying good-bye and we’re all trying to be as positive as possible!! So!!! We’re giving away a lot of blog candy this week to help ease the pain! Be sure to check that out so you can grab some Twilight prizes!!

I apologize for being so late today with posting my final sketch. We made a last minute decision last week to move and now we’re scrambling to pack and take care of our biz. I am beginning to believe I’m channeling Zsadist from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Or maybe even Phury… if you haven’t read either of these books, suffice it to say I seem to be masochistic lately!

Ok, so on to my project. Dani is giving away blog candy for participants who do this sketch so be sure to check out the details here:  Dani’s Farewell Sketch Challenge

I had to alter up the sketch a little. My apologies to Dani! Being in a rush with this moving thing isn’t conducive to accurate sketch representations! The designer paper and double dot card stock is BoBunny. The rest is all PTI. I <3 you PTI. Have I said that before?? Sorry for keeping this short my friends. I’ve got to return to my mess…

TGF CHA Relay: Yep, I’m playing too.

Category : Challenges

I’m trying to do a few different things this week to kind of shake up my crafting experiences. One thing I’m planning to do is TGF’s CHA Relay! Are you playing too? If so, leave me a comment so I can see your MerIan project for today!

Here is my version of MerIan:

I’ve seen some awesome entries already and I want to give Jodi credit for the bubble idea at the tail. She totally inspired that one. My card features BoBunny Abbey Road designer paper, Baja Breeze SU! card stock, PTI white card stock, and Sugar Daddy Bazzill Bling card stock. I used Robin’s Nest Dew Drops, Copics and Spicas. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink and polysparkle embossing powder on the sentiment which is SU!.

I’ve never participated in a challenge from The Greeting Farms so this will be fun! I’m pushing the deadline so I’m going to keep this entry short.

Take note of the sketch I’m using…more information coming up!

TTSC #1: Who’s in your pack?

On Monday, Alison revealed TTIC’s new scrapbooking challenge! Unfortunately, I missed the big day but I am participating now. Let’s take a look at the challenge:

Welcome to the first Twilight Tuesday Scrapbooking Challenge! I am so excited about these new challenges. Every other Monday, I will be giving you a new topic. This topic will be taken from the pages of the wonderful Twilight Saga, and then I will reinterpret it to fit into our “real” lives! Next, YOU get to make a scrapbook page(s) about the topic! We want to know about you and your life! But, you can of course, make it about the books/movies as well! It’s up to you! We want you to have fun!!!

On to the first challenge… The wolf pack is made up of brothers. Not brothers by blood, but by the situation that binds them together. They are a family unto themselves. So, who’s in your pack? Who’s by your side no matter what? Is it your best friends? Maybe it’s actually your blood relatives! Are you a part of an extended military family where those on  base with you are your new pack? Make a scrapbook page(s) or mini album about this very important bond!

My “pack” is my family—my husband and kids. My husband is a very loyal guy and no matter how much we fight with each other, he’s always by my side. My kids are also in my pack. They bring a lot of joy to my life and they always encourage me! Here’s my layout:

I have to admit, the photos are digitally added again. I started printing them out today and realized I’m low on ink so I got a bunch of green pics. NOT COOL. LOL.

Now, the picture of my husband is kind of a “throw in”. The envelope actually holds a journaling card but I wanted to get that picture of him in there.

This is what it looks like in reality. I’ll add the journaling and the pictures in as soon as I get them printed.

And here is the butterfly die cut I made. All the paper is from the Love Bandit BoBunny line and the Double Dot line.

Well, whatcha think?

Snowflakes are beautiful!

I’m still under the weather so I’ve gotten NO crafting done this week. SOB!! But I do have this card that I made for Julie. I’m feeling a bit better tonight and tomorrow I’m supposed to leave for San Antonio to attend the Copic Certification course. So, wish me luck!!!

This card uses Frost Double Dot designer paper from BoBunny, Crystals and Sparkles designer paper from the BB Snowy Serenade line as well as PTI white.

This paper is just gorgeous. You have to see it in person to truly appreciate its beauty. There is glitter in the snowflakes! The snowflake charm is from Artful Inkables. The gorgeous matching brads are from the Ensemble iCandy brad collection that coordinates with the Snowy Serenade line.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and I’ll see you all back on Monday!

TTIC #56: Scrap Your New Moon Experience PART 1!

Category : TTIC Special Challenge, Twilight Tuesday Inspiration

120x240banner Hello Twilighters!!! Did you see the movie yet? OME, I’m going for my second showing today…

This week’s Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge is actually a two week challenge due on Dec. 1st.

I’m posting today to help inspire you to scrap your New Moon experience! Let’s take a look at the challenge wording from Alison:

Hey Twilighters! The time has come! The wait is over! New Moon was released last Friday!!

I’m betting that a lot of you made big plans; I know I did! But here’s the thing, we at TTIC don’t want to just hear about your experience with the movie, we want to see it!!!

Did you pack up your camera and TAKE PHOTOS of your New Moon experience? Pics while you’re were waiting in line, of you and your Twi-friends, and even the afterglow of seeing all your fave Twi-boys??

Now, pull out your die cut machines, your snazzy embellishments and make a layout! Journal about your night out! Show us those awesome photos! Scrap your movie tickets! Let’s all get scrappin’!!!

This challenge will be due on December 1st, so for those of you who didn’t see the flick opening night, you’ve still got some time to play along with us!

So what if you don’t normally scrap?? Well, I’ve got some inspiration for you today! Recently, I posted instructions for an Easy Mini Scrapbook that would be perfect for your New Moon experience!

I even made my own New Moon sample. Ready to see?

I made this mini scrapbook using BoBunny Almond Double Dot card stock, St. Nick designer paper and Bazzill Raven cardstock.

The sentiment is from Otherworldly Loves by StampInsanity Stamps. I used Jet Black Stazon ink. I know, you’re drooling over the rose, right? Let’s look closer…

I am a BoBunny lover my dear stampers! And this gorgeous creation is inspired by Tonya Dirk (BoBunny design team). You can watch the video here! Tonya kindly shows some individual pictures HERE.

Now, most of you know that I spent the weekend in Austin, Texas with Beth and Julie where we saw New Moon and Blue October. So I decided to make this quick and easy scrapbook to commemorate our time together!

The date is separated by rhinestones. I haven’t put the pictures in yet since I’m still going through them. Good times!

For some reason I’ve yet to figure out, Beth is decidedly “Team Jacob”. So I made this page just for her. If you enlarge the picture, you will note that I embossed the blacked out “new moon” with a gorgeous black embossing powder. I’ll update you with the brand later today. It’s stunning! The ‘Team Jacob’ and ‘Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?’ sentiments and wolf image are from Artful Inkables. I used Soft Suede (SU!) ink to sponge the sides and stamp the words. I used white craft ink (SU!) and embossing powder (clear) as well.

Of course Team Edward gets represented too!! The “Edward” image is from The Greeting Farm and the heart image is from Artful Inkables. I used Copics and Spicas to color the images.

I did a little something different with Edward’s hair. I layered it in spots. I hope this picture does it justice! Some pieces layer up once and the middle layers up twice.

A little ‘Be Safe’ in remembrance of Edward asking Bella not to do anything dangerous when he leaves. And even though the quote is from Twilight, who’s being picky? I can’t help but think of this quote as something Edward might be thinking during the time he’s away from Bella.

And finally, I left this page blank. I intend to use my white gel pen to write in some special words about our trip!

I can’t wait to see what you create!! Remember, you have until next Tuesday, Dec. 1st to scrap your New Moon experience!
