Does anyone else’s Christmas shopping go like this? One for them, one for me…one for them…one for me…

On Black Friday I bought myself this Quote Bundle Pack from Unity Stamp Co. (which is on sale, btw!! Grab yours!!) and I am just dying to use it. But, being sick all week, no dice.

I also bought the whole new release set from Verve!! I have a ton of new stamps and I’m sick????? SICK???? What is wrong with me!!! (I’m sick…)

45240_BEJeweled_D

But I couldn’t stop buying there. So I also bought a couple of makeup brushes and this kit from www.bareescentuals.com.

You can get 20% off your purchase until Sunday, Dec. 6th if you use the code FRIENDS!

I pretty much exclusively use BE. But you know what I love for skin care? Paula’s Choice! She’s offering free shipping and 5 free samples this month.

Do you remember the other day when I told you about my awful BlackBerry Storm?

Well, it’s been replaced!!! Meet my new love, Imagio:

imagio-verizon-Support-250

With the HTC Imagio™, it’s like having your TV and your computer in your pocket. Use your big screen anywhere—whether typing or talking, watching or working.

  • Sit back and enjoy the show. With its big screen and no-hands kickstand, the Imagio does a dead-on impression of a TV.
  • Take your TV shows to-go. Streaming V CAST Mobile TV gives you breaking news, sports, your favorite shows, even cartoons and late-night talk, both live and on-demand.
  • Is that an office in your pocket? Edit documents with Microsoft® Office Mobile, just like you do on your PC.
  • Capture every moment. Shoot both photos and video, using a 5.0 MP camera with auto-focus and zoom.

This thing is crazy cool. I’m psyched over it. Buh-bye BlackBerry! Do you see from that picture that I see my local weather right on my time??? It’s crazy! And my contacts can be linked to their Facebook profiles! So their FB picture shows up in my contact list. There are so many super cool things on this phone. You should check it out!!

Also, I want to share a piece of character building or professionalism, whatever you want to call it…go read this!! Professionalism 101

Personally, I find it to speak volumes about a person’s character. There are things in the list I need to remind myself of and make sure I live by. That’s one of my holiday gifts to you!

And last, my beloved Blue October will be appearing at the Not So Silent Night concert in San Antonio. I sure wish I was going…

TTIC #55: Monochromatic Colors

Category : Twilight Tuesday Inspiration

Are you looking at that fabulous countdown widget??? Those are magic numbers my friends…magic numbers!!! I’m already starting to get very anxious!!! But let’s talk about the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge first!

Today, Eve has issued us a fabulous color scheme challenge. We’re supposed to pick a monochromatic palette inspired by the Twilight saga for our projects. I’ve chosen to be inspired by the New Moon movie poster and use this color scheme by Bazzill (Bling):

bazzillsugardaddy

I also used this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch (#113) for my layout design on the card I made:

I did not add a lot of extras to this card. I wanted that gorgeous Bazzill Bling to do all the talking for me. The images are from Artful Inkables  Into the Moonlight and Fictionally Inspired.

While I’m talking about Artful Inkables, they just released some very cute new stamps. I’ve got my eye on Monster Medical…it’s really cute! The little monster with the bandages on his/her forehead is just too cute!!

Ok, back to my card. I water colored the wolf. Whoa. Backup, what? Yes, you read correctly…I water colored the wolf. I like my water coloring on the ‘nontraditional’ side and this is how I like it. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about ‘traditional’ art and you know…sometimes I just like stuff that might not be “proper”.  So yes, my water coloring is darker than you might be accustomed to.

I used Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, and Creamy Caramel Stampin’ Write Markers (Stampin’ Up!) to do my water coloring. I also used Creamy Caramel for the paw print and Jet Black Stazon for the Wolf Girl sentiment. You know what? I’m not Team Jacob. Nope. Not one bit. So you Team Jacob girls, leave me a comment. I’ll throw you in random.org and send the lucky winner this card!

(Deadline is Monday, November 23, 2009. I’ll reveal the winner on next Tuesday’s post!)

Alison has issued an early challenge that is due December 1, 2009. Her wording is far better than mine so please…Be sure to pop over to TTIC to get the full challenge details.

Oh! I almost forgot! What are your New Moon movie plans??? This week, I’m meeting some of my TTIC friends for a girls’ weekend! Tonight, Julie is flying in. Tomorrow, Julie and I are going to meet up with Dani for lunch!! And Thursday, Julie and I will meet up with Beth in Austin. We’ve got 10:00 a.m. tickets for New Moon on Friday. I did the midnight showing thing last year… Never. Again.

download_thumb_1158785407_01Then, on Saturday night, we’re off to see my fake-boyfriend Justin perform at Stubb’s in Austin. I noticed on www.stepheniemeyer.com, that SM wanted a Blue October song on the New Moon soundtrack but it got nixed.

STUPID MOVE WHOEVER WAS IN CHARGE.

Now, go see what the other fab TTIC Designers have made for you!!

This would be what one might call a hodgepodge post…so don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

First of all, I’m excited to announce that Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October is on the mend, feeling better, and will be appearing LIVE as scheduled in Austin next month!

stubbs

If you look very closely, you’ll notice that these dates coincide with the release of New Moon!!! That is like…super cool…you know why? Me, Beth, and Julie are all meeting in Austin for a girls weekend—our first evah and we are going to this concert!!!

New Moon, Blue October, girlfriends…Good Times. Good times.

TTIC is helping TwilightMoms raising money for Blue October’s causes that the Pick Up The Phone tour was planning to raise awareness about. I’ve donated, TTIC donated…how about you? Go see TTIC’s post here!

Next up, I want to remind everyone of Sarabeth’s Halloween Blog Hop starting on the 30th…

ShabbyBlogsFeelsLikeHomeHeader2

And finally, I am late in posting my sample for the Wild Flower Kids ‘Tis the Season digital release!

I used Mojo Monday Sketch 110 for the layout. The patterned paper you see is BoBunny, ‘Tis the Season (ironic, huh?) Snowflakes, and Treasure. The image was printed onto PaperTrey Ink white card stock. The card stock layers and base are Bling Bazzill, but I don’t have the color name. The card is a 5.25” square. The ribbon and rub-on are Stampin’ Up!. I used Copics to color Ivy and Spicas to highlight her halo, candle flame, wings, and dress.

I’m trying to show you the glittery edges of Ivy’s dress that I used the Spicas on. I’m not sure how well you can see it! The wings are also glittery.

Tomorrow, I have more to share. I have a super fab journal that Julie made and is selling now! I can’t tell you what I’m doing with mine yet…but I will soon. It will be worth waiting for, I hope! But I am going to show you how I keep track of my Copic markers and how I determine which colors I use. Won’t that be fun?

Guess what else? I have the full line of the new BoBunny fall release!!! I’m desperately trying to get it inventoried so be on the lookout! I plan to work quite a bit tonight getting it in. This stuff is GORGEOUS! I can’t wait to share!

I haven’t posted in a few days so I wanted to tell you a little about what I’ve been doing. Most of you probably know I’ve had a very busy last few months with my hosting issues and creating my new store. So, I took a mini-break.

Last week, we took the kiddos to a beautiful park:

park and play 056

They had so much fun on this tire swing. You could here myJulie laughing and screaming her little head off. And since my son, Daniel, is now 10… it is getting rare to see him cut loose and just enjoy himself. They were so so full of joy and laughter! Days like this are good.

Then on Thursday, we headed “back home” to San Antonio for a brief visit. Actually, I was treated to a Blue October concert on Friday night.

blue october approaching normal2

It was super hot as San Antonio in the summer always is. I absolutely love the people of San Antonio and miss it greatly. See Justin Furstenfeld with the guyliner? He’s totally my boyfriend. He just doesn’t know it.

blue october approaching normal

I plan to see Blue October when they come to Dallas too. Ole Bestie says she’s coming. I’ve not seen proof of that yet. But I sure hope it happens. Justin is super amazing in concert. The whole band is superb. Everyone of them are honest, truly caring men that totally love their fans. Hey Justin, call me!

On Saturday morning, we went to the Riverwalk and did the touristy thing and rode the boat. If you’ve never been to the San Antonio Riverwalk, you are completely missing out. I miss it so much!! Go see what you are missing with THIS LINK.

People who actually live in San Antonio don’t tend to ride the boat on the Riverwalk. My husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law had never never ridden the tour boat before I came around! Saturday was actually the first time for my MIL and FIL. That was kind of cool. They’ve lived in SA their whole lives!! My FIL is very familiar with the Riverwalk since he works (he’s retiring this month) for the city, so he’s done all kinds of work on it. But he’d never just gotten to relax and enjoy it as a tourist! That was cool. What made this trip special is, a new section has been opened on the Riverwalk. So we had to check it out! This is the only picture I got since my battery decide to die and ironically enough, so did my MIL’s!! But this is the grotto area. This is looking up in a cave hole. There is water pouring from the mouth. Isn’t it cool? At night it’s a little spooky!

Tomorrow I’ll be back to work. But until then, have you visited San Antonio? Let’s hear about it!!

TTIC #29: BFFs: Bella & Jacob

Category : Challenges, Scrapbook Pages, Twilight Tuesday Inspiration

Welcome to another week of Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenges!

It is my turn to issue this week’s Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge: BFFs: Bella & Jacob (TTIC #29). I want to focus on the friendship between Jacob and Bella…

Bella and Jake have a very special friendship. Jacob was there for Bella when she needed someone to bring sunshine into her life. Jacob was a caring and loving friend to Bella. Although Jacob viewed Bella romantically, Jacob did not imprint upon Bella. Jacob could never have loved Bella the way Bella loved Edward or Edward loved Bella. But they could be the best of friends. The could love each other in deeply passionate friendship kind of way.

“He was my best friend. I would always love him, and it would never, ever be enough.”
Bella Swan, New Moon, Chapter 9, p.219

“Yeah, I’ll always be your friend. No matter what you love.”
Jacob Black, New Moon, Chapter 18, p.409

Craft Challenge: Make a project celebrating your best friend. Or Jake and Bella’s friendship.

Comment Challenge: Do you have a best friend whom you love passionately (in a friendship kind of way)? What makes your friendship so special?

Be sure to visit our Design Team who have fantastic projects to display for this week’s challenge:

Beth ~ Dani ~ Eve ~ Jen ~ Julie ~ Margie ~ Rebecca

So, on with my project.

My project is absolutely riddled with double entendres and multiple meanings. There is a lot going on in the subtexts.

Let’s look:

stamphappens ttic 29 017

This is a 12 x 12” scrap page. I started out with two 6 x 6” pages but it just couldn’t hold what I wanted to say so I built them into a larger page.

Rockabilly Specialty paper, Kiwi Kiss CS, Basic Black CS, Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon, Jet Black Stazon Ink, black embossing powder, Ice rhinestone, black Prima flower, Don Juan Cricut cartridge.

If you enlarge the picture, you’ll notice that Jacob and Bella’s photo mats are almost identical…almost.

Kind of like their relationship, they are an almost perfect match but not quite. Jacob’s stripes go a different way than Bella’s.

stamphappens ttic 29 020

Here’s a closer look at the stripes and the skull. So…why the skulls? Well, first of all, the stuff Bella and Jacob do together usually are dangerous. Bella ends up in the ER quite a few times in New Moon.

And then there is the danger of Jacob getting his heart broken…

And him tempting Edward to fight for Bella…

And Bella having to struggle with her feelings for both Edward and Jake.

stamphappens ttic 29 019

The title of my page is My Never. Stephanie Meyer used this awesome Blue October song as Jacob’s song for Bella.

You’ll notice two awesome quotes that exemplify “My Never”…

“He was my best friend. I would always love him, and it would never, ever be enough.” Bella Swan

“Yeah, I’ll always be your friend. No matter what you love.” Jacob Black

stamphappens ttic 29 021

I put the lyrics to the song in the other square of the page. This song is so beautiful.

This song really portrays the angst Jake feels.

Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October sang this song during Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn tour.

Blue October recently released their Approaching Normal album with this song on it and it is absolutely beautiful. Even if you heard it on YouTube, I encourage you to listen to the album version. It is so worth it!

X7UNM

Listen to My Never here! (just choose My Never…)

And as a final note, I love my Bestie with a mad passion. She left me. She moved away from me almost 10 years ago. She broke my heart. (Yes, this is a guilt trip…) But…she is the absolute best. She knows how to listen and always says the right stuff. She supports me. She shares my interests. She’s loyal. I love her. Thanks, Beth! And lately, I’ve been growing another bestie. I need to think of a good name for her too. She’s awesome and really listens to me too (EVERYDAY!!). And you know what? I’ve even got a third girlfriend that is rocking my socks! All of a sudden, I’m being blessed with good friends who listen to me and share my interests!! Right now is a great time in my life with my friends. Thank you ladies…
