Friends Having Fun

Very soon, there will be yet another challenge blog on the scene! This one is going to be a little different though. It will be all about Friends Having Fun. Not only will there be a weekly challenge, but friends will be discussing all kinds of life aspects during the week. Like sharing recipes or home ideas! I hope you’ll join us. And be on the lookout over there…I hear there might be a need for some friends to help with the challenges!

I really wanted to do something colorful today. The sun is out, it is starting to warm up and I’m really excited for spring to come. It is such a mood lifter! And I need that! I have been anxious to use this new stamp set I have from Verve, Love’s Flower.

I really enjoy blending with multiple colors now that I’ve gotten better at it. It is a lot of fun and the look is beautiful. I used some retired SU! designer paper and Wild Wasabi ribbon. The rest of the card stock is from PTI.

I actually wrote down which Copics I used!! G12, G14, G17, YR07, R05, Y06, Y11, & Y13. You likey?

TT Sketch Challenge #14–Faith

Category : Bo Bunny, Challenges, Just Rite Stampers, PaperTrey Ink, SH Shop, Sizzix, TT Sketch Challenges

I have finally been able to make my card for the Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #14.

I’m really excited to do this challenge so let’s take a look:

Here is Dani’s sketch.

It’s a cute sketch, huh?

Thanks for making it Dani!

Here is my card. I’m very excited about this card. The designer paper I’ve used is from BoBunny’s fall 2009 line and it is scrumptious!!! Take a look at this line, Love Bandit. You are truly going to love it! Since leaving Stampin’ Up!, this is my “go to” line of paper. I adore it!!!

I used Flamingo and Strawberry Double Dot heavy weight paper. BoBunny’s “heavy weight paper” is basically card stock. It’s nice. Now, personally, I like my card bases to use a slightly heavier weight card stock and this is where the ultra fab PaperTrey Ink comes in. I simply make my design, and then adhere it to a PTI base. However, this is purely a personal choice.

I’ll tell ya what. That Donna sure can change a girl’s life. I’m totally married to my heat tool for embossing my sentiments now. I’m not so sure how well you can see the embossing in this picture, but it’s there. The trick for me, was using Versafine Onyx ink. That was the total difference. Thank you, Donna!!

The sentiment is from Just Rite Stampers. I like these stamps and am trying them out a bit to see if I’m interested in carrying them in my store.

The crystal bling is from Close to My Heart. The butterflies are from Sizzix via Stampin’ Up!.

Beautiful paper stampers. You really need to try this stuff!

This & That! Check it OUT!

This would be what one might call a hodgepodge post…so don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

First of all, I’m excited to announce that Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October is on the mend, feeling better, and will be appearing LIVE as scheduled in Austin next month!

stubbs

If you look very closely, you’ll notice that these dates coincide with the release of New Moon!!! That is like…super cool…you know why? Me, Beth, and Julie are all meeting in Austin for a girls weekend—our first evah and we are going to this concert!!!

New Moon, Blue October, girlfriends…Good Times. Good times.

TTIC is helping TwilightMoms raising money for Blue October’s causes that the Pick Up The Phone tour was planning to raise awareness about. I’ve donated, TTIC donated…how about you? Go see TTIC’s post here!

Next up, I want to remind everyone of Sarabeth’s Halloween Blog Hop starting on the 30th…

ShabbyBlogsFeelsLikeHomeHeader2

And finally, I am late in posting my sample for the Wild Flower Kids ‘Tis the Season digital release!

I used Mojo Monday Sketch 110 for the layout. The patterned paper you see is BoBunny, ‘Tis the Season (ironic, huh?) Snowflakes, and Treasure. The image was printed onto PaperTrey Ink white card stock. The card stock layers and base are Bling Bazzill, but I don’t have the color name. The card is a 5.25” square. The ribbon and rub-on are Stampin’ Up!. I used Copics to color Ivy and Spicas to highlight her halo, candle flame, wings, and dress.

I’m trying to show you the glittery edges of Ivy’s dress that I used the Spicas on. I’m not sure how well you can see it! The wings are also glittery.

Tomorrow, I have more to share. I have a super fab journal that Julie made and is selling now! I can’t tell you what I’m doing with mine yet…but I will soon. It will be worth waiting for, I hope! But I am going to show you how I keep track of my Copic markers and how I determine which colors I use. Won’t that be fun?

Guess what else? I have the full line of the new BoBunny fall release!!! I’m desperately trying to get it inventoried so be on the lookout! I plan to work quite a bit tonight getting it in. This stuff is GORGEOUS! I can’t wait to share!

Bloghop

Wow. Just wow. A whole year has gone by since the idea for the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge began. It’s amazing to me. We started out with just Me, Beth & Eve.

Now we’ve added a whole team, a special site, a forum, challenges beyond our original TTIC and have made a whole coven of friends!!! It amazes me. And I want to especially thank Beth and Eve for going on this adventure with me…for making this all a reality. Thank you to both of you…I’m blessed to have you as friends!!

Originally, the TTIC was only planned to last until the opening of Twilight, hence the Twilight Tuesday name. Remember when MTV was doing Twilight Tuesdays for the Twilight Movie? Good times, good times.

Anyway, the three of us unanimously decided to continue on with the TTIC and I added Dani, Jen, Julie, Margie and Rebecca to complete the team. It has been an enormous pleasure working with each of these ladies!! We’ve all been through some good times, and some bad…and it’s been nice to have a group of supportive friends. I’ve watched each of the team grow so much over the year and I’m so proud of each one!!

This summer, we expanded yet again adding Alison, Donna, Erica, and Jacquie. Another excellent set of Twilighter crafters and friends! I am so incredibly blessed by the enthusiasm our newest editions have added to the team! They bring a fresh perspective to our challenges and each are very passionate about the TTIC.

I also want to thank the entire TTIC team for their dedication. I look forward to another fun year ahead!! I could go on for a long time praising this team, but you know how it is…people want to get on to the “good stuff” so let’s go!!

I’d like to share my two favorite past challenges:

TTIC #29 is a special shout out to Justin Furstenfeld who is in my constant thoughts and prayers right now. I love you, Justin, get better soon!

And finally, I’d like to revisit TTIC #36: What Says Twilight to You?

So much going on here… I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #110 for this card. I like the sketch and plan to use it again this week on another project that I’m really excited to share. All the gorgeous paper you see…BoBunny’s St. Nick line.

I also used Glass Slipper Bazzill Bling and Raven. I used PTI for my stamped Artful Inkables image. I embossed the Versafine Onyx ink with clear powder and colored it with Copic markers. It is cut out and popped up with dimensionals. I used Nesties to cut the scallop and circles.

The O.M.E! image is from StampInsanity Stamps’ OtherWorldly set. Available in my shop. I stamped the image with StazOn Jet Black Ink.

And this is the inside. It reads, “Twilighter and not ashamed”. How perfect is that??? This image is also from the Otherwordly set. All paranormal lovers need this set!

And now, it is my most honored pleasure to send you on to the marvelous Margie’s site!

I am the first stop in the blog hop but if you would like to return to the main site, please visit www.twilighttuesday.com. Enjoy! And thanks for participating! Oh! And be on the lookout for blog candy!!!

We are excited to welcome Margie back from her hiatus! So much is happening with school starting back that we’ve decided to do a "free day" for our challenge this week.

The challenge portion is simply to create any Twilight themed project you desire and share it with us! No hard thinking this week!!

The comment portion is to tell us if you are getting excited about the New Moon premiere coming up and if you are making any special plans for it.

Please blog hop on over to see the other design team creations:

Jacquie ~ Jen ~ Julie ~ Margie ~ Rebecca

I made this card earlier this month and wanted to share this as my project for today’s challenge.

Since Eclipse is currently filming (OME!), I chose this card as a representation to honor Eclipse.

I simply adore this embossed paper but I have no idea who the maker is!

I used the Dazzled image from Artful Inkables and colored it with my Copics. I used R29, R27, and R24. I also used a warm grey (don’t remember which, sorry stampers!) to outline the banner to give it a warmer look than the blue I usually use.

Thanks for looking everyone!

Easy Peasy Cards

Today, I’d like to share some super easy cards I made last week. These cards are great to make when you’re in a pinch for something really easy and fast. Like the birthday you forgot, or the thank you note you need to send.

stamphappens072109 004

This picture is a bit dark. When I changed stamping areas, I changed photo sites. It just hasn’t been working so I’ve since changed my photo site back to the old place. So please forgive my dark picture!

I used a monochromatic color scheme of white and Melon Mambo. My white paper is from PaperTrey Ink and the Melon Mambo is Stampin’ Up. I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Bloom Dots for the background. Then I added the sentiment (Stampin’ Up! but suddenly the name slipped my mind!) and ribbon. This card is so simple!

stamphappens072109 005

Isn’t it sweet? On Thursday, I’ll show you another version of this type of card but using another folder and blinging it up a bit.

stamphappens072109 006

And here is the same card with a different sentiment. Lots of possibilities! Let me tell you stampers, if you don’t have a die cutting machine (Cuttlebug, Big Shot, etc.) you are totally missing out!!

On to this week’s challenge!!

TTIC #36: What Says Twilight To You?

So many things say “Twilight” to the multitudes of Twilight fans. What images do you think of when you think about the Twilight books and movies? For some, Twilight means an apple, for some, the chess piece on the cover of Breaking Dawn, and for others, Bella’s truck conjures up the Twilight mood. Many fans love to express their Twilight love by choosing a “team” to root for, and others have favorite quotes from the book that are near and dear to them.

For the craft portion of the challenge: create a piece that expresses what comes to mind when YOU think of the Twilight saga.

For the comment portion of the challenge: Many people often say that reading the Twilight saga has been life-changing. Please share how the saga has changed your own life or made you view life in a different way.

For me, I conjure up a million things when I think of the Twilight Saga. I think about the book covers and those are the images my children are constantly pointing out to me! So I am celebrating the book covers this week…because I’m a Fanpire!

ttic special ai challenge 006

I used a lot of gifts for this project. The red paper (and that is some very, very luscious stuff) is from Eve, the black flocked paper is from Julie, and the FANTASTIC image is from Artful INKables. Thank you all!!!

I used my trusty SWMs to color the image. I sponged the edges and stamped Fanpire in Riding Hood Red SU! ink. I used my nestabilities for the circles and the oval and eyelet punches are from SU!. The rhinestones are from Close to My Heart. The white paper is from PTI. I’m hoping I got everything there!

Be sure to check back all week to see more projects made with Artful INKables’ new sets. I’ll have projects all week and Monday too!
