Birthday Fun

Hello stampers!!

Last week was my first born’s 11th birthday. I whipped up this card for him.

I realized that trying to make cards for 11 year old boys is not so easy.

It’s already hard enough to do masculine cards.

Throw in kids who want to be older and cool and it’s darn near impossible.

I did a lot of normal ink to paper stamping on this card! I embossed everything except the green balloon.

I used Wild Wasabi, Brilliant Blue (craft ink), and Real Red (craft ink) from SU!

I used Birthday Whimsy for my images (SU!).

I used Vintage Sepia from Versafine and Jet Black Stazon.

The paper is BoBunny from the Calpso and Double Dot collections.

I drew the balloon strings with my Multiliner.

Enjoy!

Friends Having Fun Challenge Blog

WHOO HOO! Today is the very first Friends Having Fun color challenge brought to us by Alison and the Kaleidoscope Krew!

The challenge is to use the following colors:

Image

I played along with the challenge and this is my card:

I took a little liberty with my blue and chose a lighter shade. I am highly partial to Baja Blue and love to use it! I’m not a huge blue lover so work with me!

I colored my Verve image with Copics. Now, that’s a custom shade up there! I seem to have misplaced the shades I used…yikes!

The star bling is from BoBunny and so is the designer paper (Abbey Road Stripe) and Sunflower Double Dot card stock.

I added Crystal Effects to the star. Ok, now take off to Friends Having Fun and see what the Kaleidoscope Krew made!

Hello Twilighters! Are you ready for another TT Scrapbooking Challenge? Let’s see what Alison has for us:

Welcome to the second Twilight Tuesday Scrapbooking Challenge! The Holidays are almost over, so maybe you can find some time to play along with us! This week’s challenge is about one of the Cullen boys… Jasper has the special ability to control the emotions of the people in a room. He often made Bella relax in Twilight. Who in your life does that for you? Maybe you have a special place you go to to find peace. What is your "Jasper?" Make a scrapbook page representing that person or place! Or, you can make a layout about Jasper himself!

Ok, so Alison asks us who or what in our life makes us relax. Well, this is a little difficult for me because it seems like I’m always searching for a Quiet Mind. I’ve been thinking and thinking about what I would do for this challenge, and then something kind of cool happened…it snowed on Christmas.

A white Christmas! Now that is something to think about! Snowfall is a serene and beautiful thing. Snow at night is even better! The peacefulness of snow quietly falling at night…can you think of anything more relaxing? I can’t! Not right now, anyway!!

I took this snapshot on Christmas day. I thought this was the most beautiful snow I’ve ever seen. The photo was taken from my cell phone but it’s not too bad! I made it black and white to accentuate the simplicity of the snow. I hope you can embiggen it to see how gorgeous the snow is!

I used the Snowy Serenade designer paper line from BoBunny. This paper is truly too stunning to cover it up much. And, it looks very peaceful to me.

Please go and visit the other design team creations to see what they’ve come up with!

I’m still under the weather so I’ve gotten NO crafting done this week. SOB!! But I do have this card that I made for Julie. I’m feeling a bit better tonight and tomorrow I’m supposed to leave for San Antonio to attend the Copic Certification course. So, wish me luck!!!

This card uses Frost Double Dot designer paper from BoBunny, Crystals and Sparkles designer paper from the BB Snowy Serenade line as well as PTI white.

This paper is just gorgeous. You have to see it in person to truly appreciate its beauty. There is glitter in the snowflakes! The snowflake charm is from Artful Inkables. The gorgeous matching brads are from the Ensemble iCandy brad collection that coordinates with the Snowy Serenade line.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and I’ll see you all back on Monday!

TTIC #56: Your New Moon Experience

Hello Twilighters!

Today is the official day to share your scrap pages for TTIC#56: Your New Moon Experience.

Let’s see what Alison has to say:

“Happy Tuesday Twilighters! So, have you seen it? How many times??? I know some of you have gone 2 or 3 times already! Now, the most important question… Did you take pictures???? If so, then join us in making a layout of your New Moon Experience! If you didn’t, that’s ok! Scrap your ticket stubs, journal about the evening’s events, etc! Just have fun with it! Even if you haven’t scrapped before, join in! We can’t wait to see what you make and read about your time at the movie!!!”

I have seen New Moon twice now and I may go for a third. Last week, I showed you a mini scrapbook that I plan to use for my first New Moon experience.

If you’d like to revisit it, please feel free

I haven’t placed my pictures in it yet but will someday soon.

For this week’s project, I decided to use a similar color scheme. I replaced the black with dark brown and made it incredibly, incredibly simple.

Let’s take a look…

One problem I have when I scrap is remembering that my pages need to lie flat in a book. I love embellishments and fun stuff but they aren’t always practical. I also tend to over do my pages where the focus falls on my craftiness and not on my pictures. But this is not the case! LOL. Here, I’ve made an incredibly simple 6×6” layout set.

Now, I have a confession. The photo is totally thrown in. I actually did take a picture of my husband on my BlackBerry the day we went, but my Blackberry and I are in this huge New Moon style thing where BlackBerry recently told me, “It will be as if I never existed…” And BB is not kidding. I can’t answer calls, find any of my saved stuff (some of which I spent real $$ on!!!), etc. So, the picture is gone.

Instead, you get this totally candid no makeup snap shot of me today after I went and had my hair did (I’ve always wanted to say that…). I really like the lady who does my hair…she’s a total sweetheart, she’s good, and her boyfriend just proposed to her!! WHOOT! Now I need to make her something… but I digress. We chatted a little about New Moon today so this picture kind of counts…right??

I used BoBunny Almond Double Dot and St. Nick Sleigh paper. The brown is Bazzill Bling. The letters are also from BoBunny and I sponged the edges with Bravo Burgandy ink from SU! All of the writing is done in a Garnet Spica pen.

I’m not sure if you can see the sparkle from this picture or not but you might want to click it to make it larger and try.

Ok…now it’s your turn! Head over to Twilight Tuesday and leave your link in Mr. Linky so we can see your creation!!!

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team’s awesome creations too!!

Living Inspired!

Category : Bo Bunny, RAKs

Our friends should be companions who inspire us, who help us rise to our best.   ~Joseph B. Wirthlin~

Recently I was given the opportunity to make this card for the person who has inspired my love for paper crafting more than any one else. I thought it was incredibly important that “Living Inspired” be the sentiment because she is truly inspirational.

I used Love Bandit BoBunny paper for this card. The white layers and base are PTI.

See that gorgeous butterfly? Not my original idea. Beate came up with this many months ago and I copied it. See? Inspiration. I usually add something to the inspiration pieces I get from others. In this case, I added the wire antennae.

Stampers, I just had to show you this gorgeous flower! Look at the brad in the middle! SWOON! All BoBunny Love Bandit. You need to get you some!!

Ok, the inside might seem a little stalkerish.   I was trying to convey that I hope others see a little of her creavity and inspiration in my own projects. There are so many truly gifted stamper artists out there and everyday I am totally amazed at the sensational projects I see. A few of my inner circle of friends have talked about the dying art of leaving a comment in online galleries and blogs. I’m just as guilty as others. We all get busy and we drool over someone’s creation, but we forget to tell them how their creation inspired us!

So today, I encourage you to leave a comment on one of those blogs you visit…leave a comment…tell the artist how inspirational she or he is!
