Venturing into new territory…

I guess you could say I had a “divine” revelation at church Saturday night. I was doodling on my church notes and kind of liked the flower I drew and thought…you know, maybe I could use this image. So yesterday, I drew it out again and made it into a digi image. Please be gentle with me. I’ve never done this before. But I did it…and it felt kind of good doing something I didn’t think I could. Let’s look…

My image is kind of a whimsical flower. Nothing ultra fancy. But I like how it turned out.

I printed the image twice, and cut part of it out to pop it up.

I added Spicas and Stickles to the flower petals and center respectively.

Would you like to use this image? I’m including it here. If you use it, please leave me a comment so I can see yours.

Please do not alter my image or claim it as your own.

Please make sure you give me proper credit and link back here if you use the image. Thanks!

True Blood Challenge #3: Most Memorable Season 1 Episode

4

Category : Digital Stamping, True Blood Challenge

Welcome back for another True Blood Challenge! Here is this week’s challenge:

What was the most memorable episode from Season 1 for you? Create anything that is handmade-be sure to include the name of the episode and describe it for our readers.

I have to say, there were so many memorable moments in season 1 that I could do a montage!! But since I had to pick one as my most memorable moment, I knew exactly which it would be. Episode 11: To Love is to Bury (2008).

The introduction of Jessica was the most unexpected and thrilling surprises of the entire season! Deborah Ann Woll is absolutely brilliant and I absolutely adore this character!

Have you seen Alice in Wonderland yet?

I did. Opening night sitting in the front row. In 3D. Hmm. I should’ve gotten there earlier!!! lol

It was awesome though. Now I’d like to see it again so I don’t have to crane my neck up so much. This next time, I’ll do IMAX in 3D. I don’t think you can watch this movie appropriately in 2D.

I love all the Alice in Wonderland images people are putting out! I’ve had a few from Sassy Studios for awhile and I finally used one!

I love it when people use a lot of white in their cards and then just let the color pop. I’m still working on this effect!

I used Spicas to add a little pizzazz to the white area of her skirt.

Overall, I like how she turned out!

So I loved the always-perfect Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. They were both utterly fantastic. We’ve been saying a lot of “Off with her head!” around my house lately! What about you? Have you seen the movie? Are you planning to? What did you think?

This would be what one might call a hodgepodge post…so don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

First of all, I’m excited to announce that Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October is on the mend, feeling better, and will be appearing LIVE as scheduled in Austin next month!

If you look very closely, you’ll notice that these dates coincide with the release of New Moon!!! That is like…super cool…you know why? Me, Beth, and Julie are all meeting in Austin for a girls weekend—our first evah and we are going to this concert!!!

New Moon, Blue October, girlfriends…Good Times. Good times.

TTIC is helping TwilightMoms raising money for Blue October’s causes that the Pick Up The Phone tour was planning to raise awareness about. I’ve donated, TTIC donated…how about you? Go see TTIC’s post here!

Next up, I want to remind everyone of Sarabeth’s Halloween Blog Hop starting on the 30th…

And finally, I am late in posting my sample for the Wild Flower Kids ‘Tis the Season digital release!

I used Mojo Monday Sketch 110 for the layout. The patterned paper you see is BoBunny, ‘Tis the Season (ironic, huh?) Snowflakes, and Treasure. The image was printed onto PaperTrey Ink white card stock. The card stock layers and base are Bling Bazzill, but I don’t have the color name. The card is a 5.25” square. The ribbon and rub-on are Stampin’ Up!. I used Copics to color Ivy and Spicas to highlight her halo, candle flame, wings, and dress.

I’m trying to show you the glittery edges of Ivy’s dress that I used the Spicas on. I’m not sure how well you can see it! The wings are also glittery.

Tomorrow, I have more to share. I have a super fab journal that Julie made and is selling now! I can’t tell you what I’m doing with mine yet…but I will soon. It will be worth waiting for, I hope! But I am going to show you how I keep track of my Copic markers and how I determine which colors I use. Won’t that be fun?

Guess what else? I have the full line of the new BoBunny fall release!!! I’m desperately trying to get it inventoried so be on the lookout! I plan to work quite a bit tonight getting it in. This stuff is GORGEOUS! I can’t wait to share!

It’s Another Digi Card!

I’m excited to announce that I will be attending the Copic Certification class in San Antonio in December! Isn’t that cool? Will anyone else be attending?

I still have a massive stash of stuff to work with but my little girl was sick from Thursday to Saturday and still coughing. You know, the fun stuff? Anyway, I haven’t done much of anything except listen to the audiobook version of The Host. Anyone read that? I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to read it! It is an awesome book!

Tonight, I sat down and worked with My Digital Studio (SU!) to make a Halloween card using this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch (108).

I ordered the professional prints of this one and last week’s so I am excited to see how they’ll look! Isn’t this fun?

Christmas in October?

So you probably think I’m going to share a cute little Christmas project, huh? No, not today… Instead, I feel like I’m having Christmas in October!! I’ve gotten a whole bunch of new stuff lately and I’m crazy excited to start using it! Here’s a short list:

  • New Greeting Farm stamps (my first set!)
  • New prezzies from Donna in Australia!!
  • Gift images from various friends
  • New stamps and paper from SU!
  • The new digital software from SU!

I’m very excited about the new digital software program from SU! I installed it last night and today I tried my hand at it! Let me tell you, stampers…this thing is nice. You don’t have to have their software to download digital packages, but it is certainly more convenient. You get a ton of stuff for the money. I thought you only got the software, but that is not correct.

I had no idea where to begin with this software. The nice part is there are pre-loaded templates that you can use. But I wanted to really take this baby out for a spin! So, instead, I printed off this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch 107 and decided to go to work. This is what I made! Everything you see here, comes standard with the software. Pretty sweet, huh?

And this is the inside of the card! It’s a standard A2 size landscape card. You can even get them professionally printed! I’m going to do that so I can see how it looks professionally printed!

Up next, I’m going to try Jen’s Wild Flower Kids digi images, Autumn Splendor with this program! Yes! You can do that too!!
