Farewell Week at TTIC… *sniff*

Most of us plateau when we lose the tension between where we are and where we ought to be. ~ John Gardiner

 Doesn’t this say it all?

Yes, this is the week of bittersweet good-byes over at the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge blog. I know there are a lot of tears and I can say that our design team is handling this last week with such grace and strength. None of us are very thrilled with saying good-bye and we’re all trying to be as positive as possible!! So!!! We’re giving away a lot of blog candy this week to help ease the pain! Be sure to check that out so you can grab some Twilight prizes!!

I apologize for being so late today with posting my final sketch. We made a last minute decision last week to move and now we’re scrambling to pack and take care of our biz. I am beginning to believe I’m channeling Zsadist from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Or maybe even Phury… if you haven’t read either of these books, suffice it to say I seem to be masochistic lately!

Ok, so on to my project. Dani is giving away blog candy for participants who do this sketch so be sure to check out the details here:  Dani’s Farewell Sketch Challenge

I had to alter up the sketch a little. My apologies to Dani! Being in a rush with this moving thing isn’t conducive to accurate sketch representations! The designer paper and double dot card stock is BoBunny. The rest is all PTI. I <3 you PTI. Have I said that before?? Sorry for keeping this short my friends. I’ve got to return to my mess…

Words of Wisdom

"The most important person any player should work to be as good as is himself. Your own excellence success and greatest pride comes from only one person–you.

Your first responsibility is to Be the Best you can. There’s nobody else like you so why try to be like somebody else."

~ Frank Robinson ~

Dani has come up with another really cool sketch design for us this week: Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #19! I’m a little late with mine today but it’s finally done.

This is another really easy card to make that would be fun to demo in a workshop. This is definitely one of those cards for all those people out there who exclaim, “Oh no! I could never do that!” Because they can!

The base is Chocolate Chip SU! card stock, the white is PTI, and the rest is BoBunny. I used Onyx Black Versafine and polysparkle embossing powder for the sentiment from Unity Stamp Co. I absolutely adore this image/sentiment from Unity. Isn’t it an encouragement? Sometimes we all just need a little encouragement, huh?

The pearls are from SU! and the flower jewels from Kaiser.  See? So simple even a caveman can do it!!

Enjoy! And don’t forget to check out what the other design team and participants have made!

It’s time for another Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge! Dani always brings such wonderful challenges to us! Today I’m showing off the Flutter Butter BoBunny collection I just uploaded to my shop.

I used the color palette Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, and Apricot Appeal from Stampin’ Up! for my inks. The card base is PTI white and so is the center piece including the image the butterfly is stamped on. I used Bazzill Sugar Daddy for my layering. The image is popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the acrylic stamp set Harmony. I inked it in Old Olive then cleaned off the spots where I wanted the Chocolate Chip and Apricot Appeal. I colored those two areas with my Stampin’ Write Markers (who are feeling quite unloved lately!). I used Snowy Serenade Flowers in white and blue. The largest white flower was colored with my Apricot Appeal SWM (cool, huh?). I then used Butterfly Dreams iCandy Jewels for the centers of each flower. The designer papers I used are Willow and Breeze.

Be sure to stop by Twilight Tuesday so you can see the other awesome designs using this sketch!

Exciting fun for today! First, I’m a guest designer today over at the Pink Elephant!

TPEGuestDesigner

The Stamp Happens Shop is sponsoring today’s Pink Elephant Challenge so the ladies were gracious enough to let me play along as a GD. Be sure to hop over there and check out the challenge. It’s a recipe challenge and you have to use two designer papers, 3 buttons, and snowflakes.

I’m combining challenges with today’s Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #17:

I slightly altered the sketch to fit my card needs. It seems I never have enough room!! LOL

Here is my card. I used BoBunny designer paper from the ‘Tis the Season collection, Bazzill and  PTI card stock, Copics, buttons from SU! and brads from BoBunny.

This is the inside of the card I made. Margie sent me the clear snowflakes and I added Liquid Pearls to them. I’ve been waiting a long time to use them specifically for this challenge! Thanks, Margie! The image and sentiment is from Henry’s Snowman.

TT Sketch Challenge #14–Faith

I have finally been able to make my card for the Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #14.

I’m really excited to do this challenge so let’s take a look:

Here is Dani’s sketch.

It’s a cute sketch, huh?

Thanks for making it Dani!

Here is my card. I’m very excited about this card. The designer paper I’ve used is from BoBunny’s fall 2009 line and it is scrumptious!!! Take a look at this line, Love Bandit. You are truly going to love it! Since leaving Stampin’ Up!, this is my “go to” line of paper. I adore it!!!

I used Flamingo and Strawberry Double Dot heavy weight paper. BoBunny’s “heavy weight paper” is basically card stock. It’s nice. Now, personally, I like my card bases to use a slightly heavier weight card stock and this is where the ultra fab PaperTrey Ink comes in. I simply make my design, and then adhere it to a PTI base. However, this is purely a personal choice.

I’ll tell ya what. That Donna sure can change a girl’s life. I’m totally married to my heat tool for embossing my sentiments now. I’m not so sure how well you can see the embossing in this picture, but it’s there. The trick for me, was using Versafine Onyx ink. That was the total difference. Thank you, Donna!!

The sentiment is from Just Rite Stampers. I like these stamps and am trying them out a bit to see if I’m interested in carrying them in my store.

The crystal bling is from Close to My Heart. The butterflies are from Sizzix via Stampin’ Up!.

Beautiful paper stampers. You really need to try this stuff!

More Twilight! July Sketch Challenge

So, it’s only…ummm…July 30th! I still have one more day to do my July sketch challenge from TTIC! Yeah, I push the envelope. A procrastinator. At least it feels that way!

Dani designed an excellent sketch for July and you can get the details for playing here.

The sketch looks like this:

I changed directions of mine and came up with this:

I wanted to make this card as simple as I possibly could because of this gorgeous black paper I used in the background!

Do you see how it has a shiny embossed look to it? It’s truly beautiful all on it’s own.

The red paper is also embossed with shiny dots.

I stamped the image (Into the Moonlight by Artful Inkables) in Versafine Onyx and colored with Copics.

A little Copic coloring tip for you. When you have an image that needs to appear white, like my pawn here, you can take a light blue marker and trace the inside of the image. Click to see a closer picture. This gives the eye the idea the image is white. You can use a light gray if you want the tone to be warm.

On Monday, the new Stamp Sistahs design team will be announced. And many new and exciting features and changes will be coming to my blog! Can’t wait to share with you!

I get to share my project with you today! I made a 6×6” layout to be used when the future Breaking Dawn movie is released.

I colored the image with my Copics. The paper came from my friends Eve, and Julie.

I thought I’d show you the different levels in this layout.

The pawn and “romantic” are both popped up with dimensionals.

Tomorrow, I will be sitting out of the normally scheduled Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge. Instead, later in the week I’ll be bringing you a very special blog post on TTIC that will positively WOW you!

Coming up, black ink on Stampin’ Up! Whisper White paper…
