Grateful for my family

Category : Cards, Mojo Monday Sketch Challenges, The Greeting Farm, Verve Stamps

I needed to make a fast card for my very generous sister-in-law today.

She was so kind to give my son a ton of clothes that were like new!

He really needed them right now and that saved me a ton of money!

Eleven year old boys grow quickly you know!!

So today, I mixed a lot of stuff together.

A Mojo Monday sketch, Verve stamps, & The Greeting Farm stamps!

How fun is that?

I made this for my SIL. I did it crazy fast so the coloring isn’t all I wanted it to be. But sometimes, that’s just the way it goes!

The designer paper is My Mind’s Eye. The card stock, ribbon and embellishments are Stampin’ Up’!

This is the inside.

Hope you likey!

Hello Stampers! Did all you mothers have a great Mother’s Day? I hope so!

This week’s Friends Having Fun sketch challenge is sponsored by Wink, Wink, Ink who has been generous enough to let us play with some of their images!

Logo[1]

The winner of this challenge will win three images from *Wink *Wink Ink!

How sweet is that!!

This challenge will close June 11th and the winner will be announced on June 12th.

The winner will be chosen from everyone who submits a card using the Friends Having Fun Sketch #2.

Here is the sketch we’re working with this week:

And here is mine:

falling_apart_color

I used the image Falling Apart.

I flipped my sketch upside down. This was actually unintentional.

I hand sketched the sketch on a piece of paper rather than printing it and then inadvertently had it flipped when I was creating the card!

Copic colors: C3, C5, R00, R11, YG91, YG95, YG63, YG67, Y21, Y23.

This is the inside. These are the sentiments that come with the image.

I hope you visit the other Sorority Sisters’ projects!

I’m reading Dead in the Family right now and I’m enjoying it sooooo much!

I absolutely adore the character of Sookie! I think she is absolutely amazing.

I always listen to these books on Audible and I adore Johanna Parker’s readings.

She does a great job!

Anyway, I absolutely love and adore Sookie.

She is a really complex character.

She struggles with herself, is brutally honest, is caring, strong, and genuinely a good person.

So I made this card to celebrate Sookie:

I used my new Darque Obsession: Lily to make her into Sookie.

And I used the Otherworldly Loves set for the “Sookie, Got Glamour?” sentiment.

Enjoy your weekend!

Fairy Fun Friday!!!

Category : Cards, Challenges, Coloring Techniques, Copics, Fairy Fun Friday, Spica Pens, The Prairy Fairy

I’m so excited!! This is my first challenge as a new DT on The Prairie Fairy team!!! YAY ME!!!

I’m also excited about my teammates who absolutely ROCK!

Their projects make me feel like an amateur so I guess I better pick up my game!

Thank you, Roberta…the most supreme Fairy Princess, for allowing me to be in your meadow!

Ok, let’s get started.

This week is Challenge #18 and we have been challenged to RECYCLE!

I got to use Lewis for this week’s project.

I Red heart Lewis!

Isn’t he awesome!!??

He just makes me giggle.

Did you know that if you buy images from The Prairie Fairy that you can earn Fairy Special Rewards?

YES! You SAVE on your entire order! DISCOUNTS PEOPLE! It’s worth it!

I went and found some Legos out of my son’s Lego box.

He found me out last night when I gave him this card to give to his teacher.

This is teacher appreciation week and today the kids are taking thank you cards to their teachers.

I thought this looked like a 5th grader. So voila!

I used some Crystal Effects on Lewis’ glasses!

Let’s talk about Lewis’ shirt for a minute.

Do you like it?

This is really easy to do.

This trick comes in handy especially if you don’t have many Copic colors.

I got this effect using a Copic Blender marker.

Don’t let the name fool you.

As you can see, it’s really a color remover.

It’s known as a “bully” because it pushes color around.

I used the brush tip of the marker and went over the lines two or three times carefully.

And voila! Stripes!

What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it’s all about?????

Be sure to check out the other DT projects!

I’m very excited about the StampInsanity release today of the Mystic Beauties.

I’m so excited, I did TWO cards!

This one doesn’t follow the StampInsanity Challenge.

It’s just a little something-something I wanted to do for me.

The artist who did these images is amazing.

She’s doing some for me too and I think she’s so dang cool! (Hi Concetta!)

Anyway, I wanted a large version of this image so I could show off all the fine details.

I put Candlelit Shimmerz on the dragon wings.

Beth, your ideas ROCK. You are brilliant!

In case you don’t remember, here’s the set:

Birthday Fun

Hello stampers!!

Last week was my first born’s 11th birthday. I whipped up this card for him.

I realized that trying to make cards for 11 year old boys is not so easy.

It’s already hard enough to do masculine cards.

Throw in kids who want to be older and cool and it’s darn near impossible.

I did a lot of normal ink to paper stamping on this card! I embossed everything except the green balloon.

I used Wild Wasabi, Brilliant Blue (craft ink), and Real Red (craft ink) from SU!

I used Birthday Whimsy for my images (SU!).

I used Vintage Sepia from Versafine and Jet Black Stazon.

The paper is BoBunny from the Calpso and Double Dot collections.

I drew the balloon strings with my Multiliner.

Enjoy!

Hot Mess #2

Category : Cards, Copics

I’m on a total roll with my hot mess cards lately!!

I just couldn’t give up on this cutie from The Prairie Fairy (my dear new friend Roberta!).

I love the image but I kept making mistake after mistake.

Don’t look too closely…there’s no contest for counting my mistakes!

LOL!!

I like the way the card looks in the end. I adore the paper, and I adore the image.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment from SU! It worked, huh?

I’ve got a surprise for Friday…stay tuned. More details tomorrow…
