Yes, yes, yes…I know…I’m late! VERY late! My extreme apologies to everyone…I got pwnd by some medical issues. So let’s move on, shall we? The ever-popular and divine Donna issued us the following challenge for TTIC this week:

With Valentines day fast approaching and everybody in a lovey dovey, touchy feely kinda mood, I thought the most obvious thing I could challenge you all to is to create a Valentine’s day card for your favourite Twilight Saga character *sigh*…Rob…I mean…Edward….What?? A girl can dream can’t she??!! …But then I thought….Nar, too easy!

So this is what I would like you to do….

Craft Portion: Make a VALENTINE’S card/project for your favourite character or for YOUR valentine… but…. with texture!! That’s right I want you to add things like lace, raised embossing, distressed edges, fuzzy fibres, metal, cloth, cracked glass, leather, flower soft, sandpaper, anything that adds texture!

Comment Portion: Tell us your favourite Valentine’s story…Or if you haven’t got one, Tell us who you would like to snuggle up on Valentine’s day with from the Twilight Saga..

Ok, let’s see. Texture…texture… Do you ever just have a seemingly fab idea for a card and then nothing works out quite right? Enter this card. I struggled so much with this card. I don’t know WHAT was going on. But, you win some, you lose some…and I don’t really have a problem showing things that aren’t my best. I mean…We all go through it right? But we still just keep pushing forward. And that’s what I did here.

I really like this sexy little Sassy image. I think I like her because I don’t look like her and really wish I did!   But today I wanted her to look like she was wearing a dress with nylons. The nylons…uh, yeah. Not feeling those so much. I should’ve colored them with a Copic instead of a Spica first. But we live and learn.

The most exciting thing I wanted to do with this card, was use the Red Apple Glimmer Mist that Alison highly recommended to me. I bought some, but I’ve struggled trying to use it. And then I thought, this heart would be perfect for it! My image was printed twice and I cut out all the hearts from one of the images. Then I misted them with the spray. Can you see that gorgeous red-gold mix? It really is gorgeous! Thank you for the recommendation, Ali! You rock!

Now, for the texture I was suppose to be adding, I counted my paper piecing as part of it. I also counted the shoes! See the Crystal Effects on those bad girls? And the lips too:

Last, my card stock is textured too. You know, I’m going to go a little off here and say this is a different Bella giving this card to her man Zsadist. I just finished Black Dagger Brotherhood: Lover Awakened and I have to say I’m all into Bella and Z. So this is her getting her groove on for Z.

Favorite Valentine’s Day story…??? Hmm. It’s my husband’s birthday so it’s a little weird in our house. I feel guilty celebrating for both of us on his special day. A teacher of mine once called VDay “Singles Awareness Day” and that made me LOL. I guess I don’t have any spectacular stories. I love the holiday though! Silly Donna asked such a no-brainer question about who I’d like to snuggle up with from the Twilight Saga…EDWARD!!! Yeah, me and everyone else, right? Thought so!
