Naughty or Nice?
Over the weekend, my sister needed a card for the person whose name she drew at work for Christmas. She was at a loss because her style is not the same as the person’s she needed the card for. So…this is where I enter…
I happened to have the perfect stamp for the card she needed. Because, you know…it’s all about the sass! And the StampInsanity lines of stamps have plenty of that!
Since I had to make this card, it was also the perfect opportunity for me to make one of those really cool 4×4 Easel Cards I’ve been seeing everywhere.
These pictures were all taken at my sister’s house with not a lot of preparation so please be forgiving. Remember…it’s Christmas. LOL
I used Copics, Spicas and a white gel pen. And embossing powder. This was all spur of the moment so I don’t have details of all the products I used.
I wish I’d have seen Jen’s reddish-brown Copic tutorial before I colored this. Jen is a very skilled and professionally trained artist as well as an art educator by profession so if you are looking for tutorials on how to color, I highly suggest following her blog.
I hope everyone has a wonderfully Merry Christmas!

This looks great! Thanks for the shout for the tutorial.
So I’ve got a question. How are you getting your embossing to looks so clean? I’ve been using the little Embossing Buddy pillow thing and it’s not doing anything to help me with the little stray embossing bits. What brand of embossing powder are you using?

@Jen, Uhh…ok confession time. I don’t use the embossing buddy. I’ll tell you what finally made me a believer in embossing. Donna. She told me what ink and powder she was using and it makes all the difference in the world. So, I’m sure you want to know what that is! Versafine (I use Onyx Black) and Polysparkle by Ranger. I actually have some of these powders in stock but haven’t listed them yet if you are interested. I’ll be getting them in the store this week. I tried a different ink (SU! craft) the other day and it was awful. I’m now die hard Versafine for embossing. And that Ranger powder is really, really clean. The pair is unstoppable.
you know how much I heart Morgan!
this turned out great!
I never realized how much I make Morgan sassy, I always make her in a little strapless dress, you’ve kept her modest in a pink shirt! lol
Great job and the pics are great!
oh how I love that sentiment…ho ho ho!

@Steph, That’s the best way to make Morgan!!! I’m going to do one like that too. I’ve only given her shimmery long sleeves because I wanted to use my Spicas!
What are you talking about the pictures are great? I love your card. Very cute!

@Jennifer,
Thanks!! I tried to take some pics on my phone…yeah…NO. I ended up having to go back to her house the next day so I took my camera. I usually set up the lighting, etc. but hey…I’m living on the edge. LOL
You did a fab job on this Tonya!
Hope you had a wonderful Xmas Missy!
Loving the new look of the blog!
@Eve, THANK YOU! I’ve been working really hard on it! I hope you had a great Christmas too!
