I’m really excited to show you my submission for Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge (106). I have to tell you though, it was really, really, hard for me! Doing the little squares at the bottom were challenging for me. I knew exactly what I wanted to do, but I had a hard time getting it from my head to the actual card!!

This is a 6×6” square card. A lot of my international friends make cards at this larger size and I like having the space to work with. But I haven’t found envelopes for them. Help anyone??

All of my 1” squares are popped up with dimensionals. They aren’t perfectly straight…like I said, I was having t-r-o-u-b-l-e.  My base and square layers are Bazzill Bling Sugar Daddy (Sugar Daddy is actually the darkest color in the pack. So this pack is called Sugar Daddy and the name of this specific paper is Sugar Daddy).

I used BoBunny ‘Tis the Season designer paper and Wild Berry Double Dot card stock as my layer. The ribbon is Cranberry Double Dot.

I sponged the sides with Soft Suede ink by Stampin’ Up!.

This is the inside of my card. I used the same papers as the front and added this Jolly Holidays sentiment which is included in the Naughty and Nice Morgan set by StampInsanity.

I also used a clear Spica pen to go over the lettering which was stamped in Soft Suede. If you click the picture, you should be able to see the sparkle better. BTW, this set of Spicas is currently sold out but I expect more in about a week.

I cut out a matching tree from scrap designer paper and popped it on top of it’s match on the bottom strip for a little visual interest.

Now, here’s the fun part. Be sure to check back on Monday to find out what else I’m going to do with this card!! You might get a new idea for the cards you receive this Christmas!
